Talento Engine Running Lean
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Fiat Talento diesel with 191,111 km is experiencing symptoms of running lean, including reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking during acceleration. The issue may be caused by defective injection valves or injectors. A similar case was resolved by inspecting and addressing the fuel injectors, suggesting that a thorough inspection by a qualified mechanic is advisable.

Could you elaborate on the specific issue you encountered and the resolution you implemented? Were your symptoms identical to mine, encompassing all four manifestations (reduced power, check engine light, rough running, and jerking)?

Indeed, the symptoms were virtually identical. While I initially suspected the oxygen sensor, a thorough diagnostic revealed the fuel injectors were the primary cause. Given the mileage on your Talento, I strongly suggest having a qualified mechanic inspect the injection valves/injectors. It might be a prudent course of action to schedule a workshop visit.

Based on your experience and the symptoms you described, I will schedule an appointment with a reputable workshop to have the fuel injectors thoroughly inspected. The repair ultimately cost 515€. Thanks for the help.

I have a Talento as well. I encountered similar symptoms some time ago – reduced power, check engine light, and a general lack of smoothness. The lean running condition sounds familiar. Did you notice any changes after replacing spark plugs? If the problem persists and the 'check engine light' remains on, have the fuel injectors checked. A faulty oxygen sensor or a malfunctioning EGR valve could also contribute to such issues.
