Summary of the thread
A 2020 Fiat Talento diesel is experiencing a persistent preheating lamp error, potentially caused by defective glow plugs. Thanks for the response! Fuel efficiency does seem a bit lower, and starting is somewhat sluggish. Was the glow plug the problem in your case too? How much did it cost you eventually? Can I still drive the car?

Yes, the eventual cause was, in fact, the glow plugs. Apparently, this is quite common. I wouldn’t drive it too much, as incomplete combustion can damage the particulate filter and maybe result in even more expenses. I ended up taking it to a trusted workshop. The work plus materials cost 440€. A diagnostic tool showed the defective glow plug right away.

Thank you so much for the information and the advice. I'll take it to a workshop right away to replace the glow plugs as well.

Hello! I also own a Talento with a diesel engine. I experienced something very similar not too long ago. The preheating light was consistently illuminated, and the check engine light came on shortly after. Did you notice any change in fuel efficiency, or perhaps a slightly harder time starting the car than usual?
