Talisman ABS Traction Problems

Hello, I'm having a major issue with my 2021 Renault Talisman diesel. The ABS lamp on the dashboard keeps lighting up, and I'm experiencing traction problems, especially in wet conditions. It feels like the ABS system is failing intermittently. My car has 136944 km on it. Could this be a speed signal fault? Has anyone else encountered this?

Hey, I have a Talisman too, and that sounds awfully familiar. Did the speedometer go crazy at all? Any weird readings from the ECM? It's like when your internet connection gets flaky, and everything starts acting up – that's what it felt like when mine started having ABS issues. I would check the input of the ABS control unit.

Thanks for the quick reply! The speedometer seems okay, but now that you mention it, I did notice a slight flicker once or twice. What exactly was the problem with yours, and what did you end up doing to fix it?

Okay, a flickering speedometer is definitely a red flag. Mine ended up being a defective ABS control unit. The workshop confirmed it was causing the speed signal fault, which in turn messed with the ABS and traction control. I'd say get yours checked out by a professional ASAP – it's not something you want to mess with yourself. The repair cost me around 1000€, unfortunately. I hope your problem will not be that bad.

Thanks a lot for the information and advice! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was indeed the ABS control unit. Cost me about the same as yours, but at least it's fixed now. Appreciate the help!
