Talisman Airbag Warning Light

My 2020 Renault Talisman with a gasoline engine has the airbag warning lamp constantly lit in the speedometer. I suspect a dodgy cable or plug connection. Has anyone else encountered this? Is it going to be an expensive fix? Any thoughts before I start tearing apart the dashboard?

Sounds familiar! I've got a Talisman too, and I had a similar issue with the SRS light a while back. Did it happen after you hit a particularly nasty pothole? I'm just wondering if it's a crash sensor thing. Could be a loose connection or a faulty sensor. Was there any talk about an airbag recall on these?

Interesting! No recent potholes that I recall, just normal driving. You mentioned a crash sensor – where is that located, and is it something I could check myself without accidentally deploying the airbags? And a recall, really? I haven't heard anything about that. Where would I even check for an airbag recall?

Okay, airbag deployment is not something you want to trigger accidentally, trust me! I'm no expert, so I'd hate to steer you wrong about the sensor location. Best bet is to let the workshop take a look. I ended up paying 95€ for them to fix it. As for the recall, check the manufacturer's website or your local vehicle safety authority. I think I heard about it on another forum.

Thanks for the heads-up! Workshop it is, then. I'll check for any recalls too, just in case. I appreciate the advice; hopefully, it's just a loose connection like yours was. At least I have a ballpark repair cost in mind now. Fingers crossed it won't be worse!
