Talisman diesel rough cold starts

Interesting analogy. The cold air feeling is intermittent. You think a defective auxiliary heater can seriously impact fuel consumption and cold start performance, though?

Absolutely. It's like trying to boil water with a cracked kettle – inefficient and takes longer. The engine works harder to compensate, hence the fuel consumption increase. The error code nails it, though. Best to get it checked professionally before winter hits. That thing doesn't fix itself.

Roger that. Will book it in for a proper diagnosis. Anticipating around 350€ for the fix. Thanks for the insight!

I have the same model. Sounds awfully familiar. When the blower motor kicks in, does it feel like you're getting cold air even when the engine is warm? The electric auxiliary heater might be the culprit. Think of it like a small electric kettle that pre-heats the coolant; if it fails, the engine struggles a bit more when it's cold.
