Talisman electric steering fault

Hey, I've got a 2015 Renault Talisman with a gasoline engine. It's only done 40586 km, but the electric steering column adjustment has gone haywire. Error memory shows a fault, and it won't adjust. I'm guessing it's a dodgy cable or plug. Anyone else had steering issues with their Talisman?

Hello! Something similar happened in my old 2012 Opel Insignia. The electric steering adjustment just quit one day. Did you check the fuses? That was my first thought, but it wasn't the fuse in my case. Is there any strange noise coming from the motor when you try to adjust it?

Thanks! Yeah, I checked the fuses, and they're all good. No strange noises either when I try to adjust it. Just silence, which is kinda worrying. Was your Insignia silent, or did it make any sounds?

Okay, no sounds is not a good sign. Mine was completely silent as well. Sadly, it wasn't a simple fix for me. In the end, I took it to a workshop because I didn't have the tools or the knowledge to dig deeper. If you've checked the obvious things like I did, a workshop might be your best bet too.

Appreciate the insight! No sound and my limited skills pointed me to a workshop. They reckon it's the cable or plug, just like I thought. Repair will be 95€.
