Talisman Engine Overheating

I own a 2018 Renault Talisman diesel with 60648 km. I'm experiencing engine overheating and extended warm-up times. I suspect a defective thermostat cooling circuit motor, possibly the map thermostat. Has anyone encountered this?

I had a similar issue on my Talisman. Have you checked the temperature sensor readings? That could give you a clue if it's the thermostat sticking or something else in the cooling system.

Thank you for your reply. Where exactly is the temperature sensor located, and what readings should I be looking for when the engine is cold?

I'm not sure about the exact location, but it's usually near the thermostat housing. Honestly, given the overheating, it might be best to get it checked at a workshop. It does sound like a thermostat issue though, from my past experience.

Understood, I appreciate the advice. The diagnostic at the workshop confirmed a faulty map thermostat; repair cost estimated at 350€. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
