Talisman Engine Overheating Communication Error

My 2021 Renault Talisman gasoline engine is having a weird issue. At 192789 km, I'm getting a control unit communication error, and the engine's overheating. The check engine light is on, and I see coolant under the car, probably from too much cooling system pressure. I'm thinking it could be a bad cable or plug connection. I'm getting data link error codes. Anyone seen this before?

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my Talisman, but no coolant leak. Check engine light and overheating were there, and the diagnostic said it was a software glitch messing with the control unit's communication. The shop first thought it was wiring. Are you sure it's just a cable or plug?

That's good info. I'm not totally sure; the cable/plug was just my first guess. Since you had a software glitch, could you tell me more about what you saw and the error codes you got? It might help me narrow things down.

Sure. It was mostly intermittent overheating, plus the check engine light. The error code said there was a communication problem with one of the engine control modules. I think they mentioned something about weird data. They did a software update and recalibration. If you're seeing similar codes, a shop that can do those updates might be a good idea. Also, make sure the cooling system isn't under too much pressure.

Thanks for the info and the suggestion. I appreciate you sharing what you went through; it sounds like a workshop visit for a full check and maybe a software recalibration is the way to go. The eventual fix was a defective wire for 95€. I'll post what the solution is here.
