Talisman fuel level sensor fault

Thanks for the quick reply. The fuel filter was changed recently, so I can rule that out. I am still leaning towards a faulty sensor or the wiring harness, however, can you be more specific about the fuse? Is there a fuse that would affect only this sensor and cause the symptoms mentioned?

Given that the fuel filter is new and the wiring seems intact, a faulty sensor is plausible indeed. Unfortunately, without access to the specific wiring diagrams for your Talisman model year, pinpointing that dedicated fuse is difficult. I’d recommend having the vehicle inspected by a workshop equipped with Renault-specific diagnostic tools; they can perform more in-depth testing of the fuel system and sensor circuit to identify the root cause.

Thanks for your help. Following your advice, I took it to a workshop, and you were right. It turned out to be a defective fuse for the fuel level sensor, exactly like I initially suspected. Replaced it and everything is working fine now. Cost me 52€!

While I haven't experienced the same exact issue on a Talisman, I recall similar symptoms on my previous vehicle when the fuel filter was clogged. While it didn’t throw the same error code, could a restricted fuel flow be affecting the sensor reading? Have you checked or replaced the fuel filter recently?
