Talisman gear shift indicator problem

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Renault Talisman gasoline. The gear shift indicator on the dashboard is acting up – it's just blank, so I cannot engage the gears. Also, the automatic transmission seems to be shifting really rough, almost like it's slipping. Sometimes I even hear grinding. I got an error code, but the gear selection display is just dead. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Talisman. Is it possible the control unit is defective?

Interesting. How did you figure out it was the control unit? What were your exact symptoms?

The symptoms were nearly identical. The garage confirmed it was the control unit. Best to get it checked out by a professional.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed the control unit. Cost me about 1000€ to repair, but at least it's working now.
