Talisman Intake Air Temperature Sensor Issue

Hi, I've got a 2015 Renault Talisman with a gasoline engine and I'm experiencing some issues. The check engine light is on, and the car feels like it has reduced engine power. I scanned it and there's an error stored related to the intake air temperature. I've also noticed the engine runs a bit rough sometimes. With almost 200k kilometers on the clock, I'm suspecting a faulty intake air temperature sensor. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Summary of the thread

A 2015 Renault Talisman owner is experiencing issues with the check engine light, reduced engine power, and rough running. The problem is suspected to be a faulty intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, as indicated by a diagnostic error code. Another Talisman owner confirmed similar symptoms and resolved the issue by having the IAT sensor replaced at a workshop. It is suggested to have the sensor professionally checked and replaced if necessary.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I own a Talisman as well. I had similar symptoms a while back - check engine light, power loss, and rough running. What error code did you get exactly? And did you try checking the wiring to the sensor?

Thanks for the quick reply! The error code pointed directly to the intake air temperature sensor. I did a quick visual inspection of the wiring, and it seemed okay, but I didn't do any in-depth testing. Was your issue also the IAT sensor? What did you end up doing to fix it?

Yeah, mine turned out to be the IAT sensor too. Honestly, I didn't mess with it too much. I just took it to a workshop, and they replaced the sensor. Problem solved. Probably best to get it checked out properly.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I was hoping it might be something simple I could fix myself, but it sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. I appreciate the confirmation that it's likely the IAT sensor. The repair cost me 155€.
