Talisman Keyless Entry Problem

I'm having a weird issue with my 2019 Renault Talisman diesel. It's got almost 200,000 km on it. The car says there's an error stored, and now the keyless entry is acting up. Sometimes it won't unlock or lock. Even stranger, I can't start the car anymore without physically putting the key in the ignition. I'm thinking it's something to do with the bumper antenna, maybe a bad connection? Anyone else had something like this?

That sounds frustrating. I have a Renault Talisman too, and had similar keyless entry problems a while back. The radio signal was going haywire. It was like trying to catch a radio station in the middle of nowhere – just static! Have you checked the antenna connections? It might be a simple fix.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the bumper antenna located? I had a quick look, but couldn't immediately spot any obvious issues with the wiring. Are there any specific plugs I should be checking?

Okay, so on my Talisman, the bumper antenna is tucked away near the rear wheel arch. It’s not the easiest to get to, I must admit. If you're not seeing anything obvious, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. A faulty antenna can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins in modern cars.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was a defective cable/plug connection to the bumper antenna. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Now the keyless entry and starting are working perfectly again!
