Talisman Mirror Heating Issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Renault Talisman diesel. The mirror heating isn't working at all. Both mirrors are completely cold, even when the car's been running and it's freezing outside. I even scanned the car, and it's throwing an error related to the mirror heating circuit. From what I've read, it might be a bad connection in the wiring or the plug itself. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm trying to figure out if it's something I can fix myself or if I should just take it to the shop.

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Renault Talisman owner is experiencing an issue where the mirror heating is not functioning, despite the mirrors adjusting properly. An error code indicates a problem with the mirror heating circuit, suggesting a potential bad connection in the wiring or plug. It is advised to take the car to a workshop for repair, as tracing electrical faults can be complex, with an estimated repair cost of around 95€.

I had a similar thing happen on my Talisman. Do your mirrors adjust properly? I'm asking because the heating element shares some of the same wiring. Could be a bigger problem in the door wiring loom.

Good shout! Yeah, the adjustment works fine, up, down, left, right, no problem at all. Just the heating that's dead. So, if the adjustment works, does that rule out a general wiring loom issue?

If the adjustment motors are working then you're probably looking at a separate issue with just the heating circuit itself, especially if you're getting an error code for it. To be honest, I'd take it to a workshop and save yourself the hassle. It can be a pain tracing electrical faults.

Cheers for the advice. I think you're right, fiddling with car electrics can be a nightmare. I'll book it in. Spoke with the garage, they reckon around 95€ to fix, cable or plug connection of the component defective sounds right given what we've discussed.
