Talisman Overheating Issue

I'm having an issue with my 2015 Renault Talisman with a gasoline engine: the engine is overheating. Diagnostics point to a bad electric fan. It has 240616 km. The fan cable and plug look defective. Has anyone had a similar cooling system, fan clutch, or electric motor problem?

Whoa, overheating is never good! I've seen a few things cause similar issues. Before you jump to conclusions, did you check the coolant level? Is the fan clutch engaging properly? Sometimes it's something simple. Is the electric motor actually getting power when the engine starts to heat up? Just trying to cover the basics before you tear everything apart!

Coolant level is fine. But I'm not sure how to check the fan clutch engagement or if the electric motor is getting power. How do I check those?

Coolant is good, then. For the fan clutch, with the engine off, try spinning the fan by hand. It should have some resistance. If it spins freely, it's likely shot. For power to the motor, you'd need a multimeter to check the voltage at the connector when the engine's hot and the fan should be running. Honestly, with your mileage, and the symptoms, a dodgy connector sounds spot-on. But messing with electrics can be tricky. If you're not comfortable, I'd recommend a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache.

I took it to a workshop. You were right! The cable connection was the problem. The repair cost 95€ Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
