Talisman preheating lamp and check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Renault Talisman diesel exhibited issues with the preheating lamp staying on, the check engine light being lit, and smoking during acceleration. Diagnostics suggested a faulty glow control unit, with concerns about potential cable or plug issues. The problem was confirmed to be the glow control unit and a bad connection, which was resolved with a repair.

It hasn't stalled yet, but I'm worried it might. Was your issue related to the heating element or cold start problems?

Yes, my issue was related to the heating element and difficulty with cold starts, pointing to the same control unit. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop.

Thanks for the information. Turns out it was indeed the glow control unit and a bad connection. Repair cost was 95€. Problem solved.

I have a Talisman and had similar symptoms. Did it also potentially cause stalling?
