Talisman Radio Reception Issue

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2015 Renault Talisman with a gasoline engine. The radio reception is terrible. I keep getting an error message in the infotainment system, and sometimes the whole audio system just doesn't work. I've checked the fuses, but they seem fine. The error memory shows a fault related to the antenna. Anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my 2017 Opel Insignia. It started with static noise and eventually the radio just cut out completely. Did you check the antenna ground connection? A bad ground can cause all sorts of weird vehicle electronics problems.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is the antenna ground connection located? I'm not very experienced with car electronics.

In my case, the antenna ground was located near the base of the antenna, under the roof lining. But I can't guarantee it's the same in your Talisman. Given the error code and symptoms, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. It could also be the FM signal amplifier.

Okay, thanks for the advice! I took it to a local shop, and it turned out the antenna was defective, just like you suspected. The total repair cost including parts and labor was 255€. Much appreciated!
