Talisman weak battery flickering lights

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2018 Renault Talisman (gasoline engine). It's got about 234k km on it. Lately, the battery seems weak when starting, and the lights flicker sometimes. I'm thinking it might be the battery sensor. Has anyone else had this issue?

I had a similar problem with my Talisman. It turned out to be a bad battery sensor causing a low voltage issue. I'd suggest getting your battery tested to confirm. What's the battery voltage reading when the engine is off?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the voltage myself, but I can get that done. If it is the sensor, is it something I could replace myself, or should I just take it to a shop?

While replacing a sensor might seem straightforward, faulty readings can stem from deeper electrical problems. Considering the symptoms you described, diagnostics are vital. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a professional assessment to avoid further complications and ensure that the replacement sensor is correctly calibrated to the vehicle's system.

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop, and they confirmed the battery sensor was defective. The repair cost me 315€. All seems good now.
