Taurus Start Stop Failure

The battery is six years old. Could that be causing the start-stop failure? Is there a way to check the battery's health?

Six years? That's ancient for a battery, especially with start-stop systems. They drain the battery like crazy. It's almost certainly the battery. But start-stop systems are sensitive. Even if the battery seems okay, it might not have enough juice for the idle stop to work correctly. I'd suggest getting it checked professionally.

Thanks for the help. I had a technician check it, and they confirmed the battery was heavily discharged. Replacing it for 290€ fixed the start-stop problem. I appreciate the insight.

Sounds like a battery issue, plain and simple. Engine shutting off, warning lights? Classic signs. Is the battery original? How old is it?
