Taurus Washer Fluid Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Ford Taurus displayed a persistent 'Washer Fluid Low' warning despite a full reservoir, and the washer system was non-functional. Diagnostic scans revealed an error, suggesting potential issues with the washer motor or system. One suggestion was to check the washer motor's functionality, as a similar issue was resolved by replacing a faulty motor. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by refilling the washer fluid reservoir and clearing the error memory, which restored the system's functionality.

Could you explain how to diagnose the washer motor's functionality? Did you notice any sounds or indicators from the motor before it failed?

Honestly, I didn't do much diagnosing. The light was on, the fluid was full, and I couldn't hear the motor. I'm not much of a mechanic, so I just took it to the shop. They confirmed it was the motor pretty quick. Best bet is to get it checked out by someone who knows their stuff.

It was the washer fluid level being critically low, triggering an error code and disabling the system. Refilling the reservoir and clearing the error memory fixed it. Total cost was 25€. Your insights helped a lot.

I had something similar. That low washer fluid light drove me nuts. Check the washer motor itself. Mine was giving me the same symptoms – warning light, no spray. Turns out the motor was kaput. You checked the fluid level, but did you actually hear the pump trying to work when you activate the washers?
