Teana AC Not Cooling
Summary of the thread
The AC in a 2006 Nissan Teana stopped cooling, and the initial suspicion was faulty valves. Possible causes include issues with the blower motor resistor or the AC compressor clutch not engaging. Suggested solutions involve checking the blower motor resistor under the dash and listening for a click from the compressor clutch when the AC is turned on. Ultimately, professional diagnosis and repair are recommended due to the complexity of the issue.

Where is the blower motor resistor located? How do I check if the AC compressor clutch is engaging? I want to understand this before I go to a mechanic.

The blower motor resistor is usually under the dash on the passenger side. As for the compressor clutch, you should hear a click when the AC is turned on and see the center of the compressor pulley start spinning along with the outer part. But honestly, with those symptoms, it really sounds like a pro job. It could be several things, and messing with the AC without the right gear can get you into trouble. I ended up at the workshop, and they told me it was the valves.

Thanks for the advice. I agree that professional help is best. The final repair cost was 1000€. I hope this helps someone else.

I had a similar AC problem with my Teana. Check the blower motor resistor; it controls the fan speed and if it's gone, it might stop the whole system. Also check that your AC compressor clutch is engaging when you turn on the AC. Is there any unusual noise coming from the AC compressor or any burning smells?
