Teana charge air temperature sensor error

My 2019 Nissan Teana with a gasoline engine is throwing a charge air temperature sensor error. Mileage is currently sitting at 97315 km. The check engine light is on and power is noticeably reduced. I'm also hearing a faint whistling noise that turns into a loud hissing when accelerating. Error memory confirms the sensor issue. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection, but haven't had a chance to fully trace the wiring yet. Has anyone else run into this?

Sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms – whistling and all – in my old BMW 3 series. Turned out to be a dodgy connection to the air intake temperature sensor. Have you checked the sensor itself? Sometimes they get gunked up.

Interesting. I visually inspected the sensor, and it appears clean. Do you recall if your BMW threw the same error code, and did you try cleaning the sensor first, or just replace the connection?

Honestly, I didn't mess with cleaning it. Similar error code, yeah. Just took it to my mechanic. They replaced the connection and that solved it. Could be worth getting yours checked by someone who knows what they're doing.

I located a slightly corroded connector at the sensor. Cleaned it up, but the problem persisted. I booked it into the local workshop. Turns out the cable itself was damaged internally. New cable and connector, total cost was 95€. Runs like a champ now.
