Teana oxygen sensor issue

Blast! My 2005 Nissan Teana, gasoline engine, is throwing a wrench in my gears. The check engine light is mocking me, and the error memory screams oxygen sensor heater failure. Mileage is only 26943 km! To top it off, it's guzzling fuel like there's no tomorrow. I've wiggled the cable and plug – seems like the likely culprit – but no dice. Anyone else hit this wall?

I feel your pain. I've got a Teana too, and I had a similar problem a while back. It was driving me nuts. Is it just the light, or are you experiencing any performance issues?

Yeah, besides the light and the error code, my fuel consumption has definitely taken a hit. It's drinking more than it should, for sure. Did you have the same symptoms, or was it just the sensor malfunction?

Okay, the higher fuel consumption confirms it. The faulty heater element messes with the air-fuel ratio, which then causes the engine to compensate. I'd recommend going to a workshop and getting it checked. I remember that the repair cost me around 95€ back then.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Sounds like a trip to the mechanic is inevitable. Thanks a bunch for confirming! I was hoping to avoid it, but it's good to have an idea of what's coming. At least I know the approximate cost.
