Temperature problems with the air conditioning system of the 2017 Mercedes GLC Diesel

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2017 Mercedes GLC Diesel (mileage: 55760km), maybe someone of you knows this? I've noticed that the air conditioning only blows warm air and the heating/cooling generally no longer works properly. In addition, the A/C system no longer seems to start properly. I suspect that my heat exchanger temperature sensor could be faulty. Have any of you ever experienced similar symptoms in your car? I'm interested in what your garage had to say about this, as I'm a bit skeptical after my last experience. Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Mercedes GLA Diesel. The thermostat settings seemed to be going crazy and didn't match the actual temperature. After some diagnostics, my garage found that my lead/connector to the temperature sensor was faulty. The whole thing was really a problem because it was affecting the accuracy of the thermostat control as well as the efficiency of the air conditioning. Also, the temperature sensor affects engine performance as the engine temperature is used to calculate fuel delivery. So it was definitely not a small problem, but after replacing the sensor, everything is working fine again. I definitely recommend you get this checked at a specialist garage. Cheers,

Person2 Hey, that sounds like a lot of stress! And good to know that the temperature sensor was ultimately the culprit. Can you still remember how much you had to pay at the garage? You keep hearing about differences in prices depending on the garage. Since this problem was fixed, have you had any other problems with the air conditioning or heating? Cheers back!

Person1, Hey, yes, that was a bit annoying! But to my relief, the repair of the cable/connector to the temperature sensor came in at €155. I know there are differences depending on the workshop, but it seemed fair to me. Since the temperature sensor of the heat exchanger was replaced, everything has been running like clockwork. The air conditioning and heating are working as they should again. I hope it stays that way! Good luck with your problem, cheers!

Person2, thanks for the info, that really reassures me! 155 definitely sounds fair. I hope it won't be more expensive on my car. It's good to hear that everything has been running smoothly since the replacement. Hopefully I'll be as lucky as you! I will take my Mercedes to the garage and hopefully the problem will be fixed quickly. Thanks again for your help, I will report back what happened! See you then!
