Yes, that's an apt description. It chokes and splutters for a good 30-60 seconds before settling into a rough idle. Did you manage to isolate the issue, and if so, could you elaborate on the eventual repair?

Yep, sounds like the exact same gremlin I battled! I didn't have the tools or patience to diagnose it myself, so I took it straight to the workshop. Turns out, it was the cold start injector, just as you suspected. The mechanic replaced it, and the problem vanished, just like that! Cost me around 500€, I vaguely remember.
