Terra DPF issues

Hi, I have a 2021 Nissan Terra diesel with 155188 km on the clock. I'm experiencing reduced engine power and black smoke when accelerating. I suspect it's the diesel particulate filter. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Whoa, sounds familiar! I also drive a Terra (not sure about the year), and I had something similar happen. Engine light came on, and my fuel efficiency tanked. Was like driving a tractor!

Interesting. Was it definitely the DPF? Did you get any sensor fault codes, and how did you resolve it? Was regeneration an option, or did you have to replace the whole exhaust system?

Yup, DPF was the culprit. I tried forcing regeneration, but no luck. The mechanic said it was too far gone. Bit the bullet and replaced it. Honestly, just go to the workshop and get it checked.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a workshop, and you were right, the DPF was defective and couldn't be salvaged. Repair cost me 1550€, but at least the issue is resolved.
