Terracan Coolant Loss
Summary of the thread
The 2002 Hyundai Terracan was experiencing consistent coolant loss, causing concern over potential engine overheating. Possible causes discussed included a faulty coolant reservoir or a more serious issue like a head gasket problem. After checking for visible leaks and ensuring no coolant was mixing with the oil, the issue was identified as a faulty hose, which was resolved at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't noticed any visible leaks, though it's difficult to be certain. I didn't check the oil dipstick, but I will do that immediately. If there are no visible signs of leaks and the oil looks normal, what would be your next guess?

If no visible leaks and the oil is clean, it could still be a small leak somewhere that's hard to spot, or even air pockets in the cooling system. I'd still recommend getting it checked out by a workshop. Better safe than sorry, especially with a potential overheating issue.

Alright, thank you for the advice. I checked the oil and it seemed fine, but given the persistent coolant loss I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it was just a faulty hose which cost 52€ to fix. Thanks again for your help!

I had something similar with my Terracan. Have you checked for any visible leaks around the coolant reservoir, radiator cap, or hoses? Also, are there any signs of coolant mixing with the oil (milky residue on the dipstick)?
