Terracan Key Battery Issue

I'm having a weird issue with my 2004 Hyundai Terracan (gasoline engine). The dashboard keeps flashing a 'key battery low' warning. Now, the keyless access has completely stopped working, and I'm getting an error stored when I hook it up to a reader. Locking and unlocking is a pain now, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Could it just be the battery in the key fob dying? It feels like trying to start a lawnmower with a weak pull cord!

I had something similar happen with my Terracan. Does it feel like the range on your key is getting shorter and shorter, like trying to shout across a football field?

Yeah, that's exactly how it feels! Like I have to be right next to the car for it to even think about working. What did you do to fix it?

Sounds like the key battery, exactly what I suspected. Best to get it checked at a workshop. They'll probably confirm it's just a dead battery in the key fob.

Thanks! I took your advice and went to the workshop. Turns out the battery was indeed the culprit. Cost me 37€ for the replacement and diagnostics. All good now!
