Terrano temperature display issue

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2002 Nissan Terrano diesel. It's got about 114000 km on it. The display sometimes shows incorrect temperatures, the check engine light pops on, and the engine takes ages to warm up. I've had a look and the cooling grille seems to be restricted. Could it be a fuse?

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra, although it was a petrol engine. The temperature gauge was all over the place. Have you checked the coolant level? Also, is the radiator actually getting hot, or does it stay relatively cool, even after driving for a while?

The coolant level seems okay, but I haven't checked the radiator itself properly. Where exactly should I be feeling for the heat? Just generally across the radiator, or is there a specific spot?

Yeah, just carefully feel across the surface of the radiator after the engine's been running for a bit. If it's cold or only lukewarm, it could be a blockage or a faulty thermostat. Given the check engine light, it's probably best to get it checked out by a workshop, to be honest. Could be something simple, but better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to a local workshop. Turns out it was just a defective fuse related to the grille. 52€ later and it's all sorted. Appreciate the help!
