I had a similar issue with my 2018 Audi A4. Check engine light, occasional overheating. It ended up being a faulty grille shutter motor. Do you know the fault code from the diagnostic scan? That would help confirm if it's the same problem.

Cheers. No code to hand, but readings pointed to the flap motor. Did yours cause any other problems?

Besides the check engine light and the rare overheating, no other issues. However, I wouldn't ignore it for long. A malfunctioning flap motor can definitely lead to further problems, especially with engine temperature regulation. I suggest you go to the workshop, so that they can perform additional testing.
