Territory air suspension compressor issue

G'day, my 2010 Ford Territory with the gasoline engine is giving me absolute grief! The air suspension compressor seems to have completely given up. It can no longer lift itself, and it's leaning like a Pisa. I've got error messages popping up and the low beams are pointing all over the place! My reader shows a stored error related to the suspension. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable or plug connection, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to track it down. Anyone had this before?

Hello, I understand your frustration. I encountered a similar issue with my 2014 Audi A6. The symptoms you describe, particularly the vehicle leaning and error messages, align with my experience. Have you checked the relay and fuse for the air suspension compressor? In my case, the fuse was blown, but replacing it only provided a temporary fix, indicating a more significant underlying issue.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't thought about the relay and fuse, I'll give them a look-see first thing in the morning. When you say 'more significant underlying issue', what are you referring to exactly? Was it the compressor itself, or something else in the system? Was the repair difficult?

In my case, after checking the fuse and relay, the problem persisted. I suspected the compressor itself, however, I took it to a reputable workshop for a thorough diagnosis. They confirmed that the compressor was indeed failing, causing the fuse to blow repeatedly. Considering the complexity of the air suspension system and the potential safety implications, I recommend seeking professional assistance for diagnosis and repair.

Turns out it was exactly what I initially suspected – a corroded connector on the compressor! Cleaned it up, applied some dielectric grease, and she's back in business! Cost me 95€ for the connector cleaning at the shop. Thanks for the advice and confirming I wasn't completely off base!
