Territory Diesel Fuel Pump Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Ford Territory diesel is experiencing hard starts, stalling, rough running, and increased fuel consumption, with an error code indicating a fuel pump issue. The problem was traced to a defective cable near the fuel pump, rather than the pump itself. The solution involved repairing the faulty cable, which resolved the issues without needing to replace the entire pump.

Thanks! Fuel injector okay. I also thought that the high-pressure pump could be faulty. Can you remember exactly what it was like when that happened to you? What did you check?

Yep, the high-pressure pump was it! Symptoms sound exactly the same. Honestly, I didn't check anything myself. Just took it straight to the shop. It was still under warranty, so they sorted it out. Based on your symptoms, I'd say it's worth getting the fuel system checked professionally.

Turns out it was indeed the fuel pump, and yes, it was just a defective cable near the component, as suggested! Garage charged 95€ for the fix. I really appreciate you sharing your experience; it helped me narrow things down and avoid replacing the whole thing unnecessarily!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the same symptoms in my Territory not too long ago. Rough running, stalling, the whole shebang. Fuel consumption went through the roof! Error was stored, pointing to the fuel pump failing. Did you check the fuel injector too?
