Territory exhaust flap issue

I've got a 2019 Ford Territory, gasoline engine, with about 119k km. Recently, I've been getting an error code related to the exhaust flaps. I've noticed the exhaust is louder than usual, and the engine sounds a bit rough on cold starts. Suspect the exhaust flap itself might be defective. Anyone else had similar issues?

Hey, yeah, I had something similar happen on my old car, though it wasn't a Ford. Loud exhaust and error codes usually point to exhaust system problems. Have you checked the flap motor or the valves themselves? They might be stuck or damaged.

I haven't dug too deep yet, just scanned the codes. When you say 'flap motor', is that a common failure point? Is there any easy way to check it without pulling everything apart?

From my experience, yeah, the motor can be a weak spot. But honestly, without proper tools and knowledge, it's best to get it checked by a workshop. Could save you from causing more damage. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a shop, and you were right – the exhaust flap was defective. Ended up costing around 190€ to replace. Running smoothly now.
