Territory transmission control unit issue

I noticed it happens more often when the engine is warm, especially on hot days or after driving uphill. Do you perhaps remember if the error code was the same for your Opel Insignia?

Yes, the heat exacerbating the issue aligns with my experience. As for the specific error code, I cannot recall the exact designation. However, the diagnostic report explicitly pointed to a faulty transmission control module. Given your symptoms and the environmental factors you've observed, I would strongly advise consulting a qualified mechanic for a thorough diagnostic assessment and potential replacement of the control unit. In my case, replacement of the module was the definitive solution. I would expect a repair cost of around 1000€.

I will bring the Territory to my local workshop for a diagnosis and, most likely, a control unit replacement. Your input has been invaluable in guiding me towards a resolution.

Your description resonates with an issue I experienced some time ago with my previous vehicle, a 2014 Opel Insignia. While the make and model differ, the symptoms you detailed – the shifting problems, the grinding noises, and the emergency mode activation, accompanied by stored error codes – strongly suggest a common underlying problem: a failing transmission control module. I am curious, have you noticed any patterns regarding when these issues are more prevalent, for example, temperature or driving conditions?
