Territory water sensor issue
Summary of the thread
The check engine light on a 2015 Ford Territory diesel was illuminated, and the engine was running rough, leading to a suspicion of a water sensor issue, possibly related to the cable or plug. It was suggested to check the sensor connector for corrosion or loose connections, as these could be the cause of the problem. The water sensor is typically located near the fuel filter, and it was advised to visit a workshop for a proper diagnosis. The workshop confirmed a malfunction due to a bad cable, which was repaired for 95€.

Where exactly is the water sensor and connector located?

Water sensor is usually near the fuel filter. Connector is likely the problem, based on the symptoms. But messing with electronics is risky, so a workshop visit is best.

Sounds like what happened with my Territory. Like a faulty thermostat. Have you checked the sensor connector for corrosion or loose connections?
