Thalia ABS Speed Signal Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Renault Thalia/Symbol experienced a speed signal fault at 58,540 km, causing the ABS lamp to illuminate and traction control to be compromised. Despite the speedometer functioning correctly, diagnostics revealed a speed signal fault code. The problem was ultimately traced to a defective ABS control unit, which required replacement and reprogramming to restore proper system operation.

Diagnostics showed a speed signal fault code. The speedometer works fine, however. Does a working speedometer rule out a sensor issue? Could something else be affecting the ABS module's signal interpretation?

Speedo's good...ABS module misinterpreting? That's pointing towards the control unit. Checked the wiring harness? A dodgy connection could cause havoc. If everything else seems alright, the control unit is likely causing it. You're probably looking at big costs - time to see a workshop?

Thanks for the insights. The issue was traced to a defective ABS control unit. Replacement and reprogramming cost 1000€. The system now operates as intended.

ABS light and traction issues, eh? Sounds familiar. Scanned for error codes? Could be a wheel speed sensor... though those symptoms make you wonder. Speedometer acting up too?
