Thalia diesel injection issue

I'm having some trouble with my 2019 Renault Thalia/Symbol, diesel engine, with 134288 km on the clock. I suspect I have a defective injection nozzle. It starts poorly, fuel consumption is up, power is down, idles roughly and sometimes stalls at idle. I'm thinking the injection valve might be dirty. Any thoughts?

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my Thalia. Have you checked for any misfires or error codes? Does it happen more when the engine is cold?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked for error codes yet, that's next on my list. And yes, it's definitely worse when the engine is cold. Did checking the error codes point you to the injection nozzle?

The error code was pretty generic, something about 'fuel trim' or 'mixture too lean'. I tried some injector cleaner, but it didn't fully resolve the issue. In the end, a workshop diagnosed it properly and replaced the faulty injector. Best get yours checked out professionally.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll get it to a workshop asap. They quoted me around 515€ for the repair. I appreciate your input!
