Thalia Engine Power Loss

My 2017 Renault Thalia with a gasoline engine has a significant reduction in engine power, plus an error code. Could this be a defective engine control unit? It currently has 188367 km.

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Renault Thalia is experiencing significant engine power loss and displaying an error code, raising concerns about a potentially defective engine control unit (ECU). A similar issue was resolved by addressing a faulty main relay, which was causing intermittent power to the ECU. The recommended solution is to have a professional technician conduct a thorough diagnostic evaluation to confirm the cause and perform necessary repairs.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar experience with my Thalia. Reduced power is a pain. Did you check the main relay? That was my culprit.

Could you elaborate on the specifics of the relay's failure and its consequential impact on the engine control unit's operational capacity?

Sure, relay was faulty, causing intermittent power to the ECU. Honestly, just take it to a workshop. They can diagnose and replace it quickly. Probably isn't worth the headache to fix yourself.

I appreciate your guidance. It appears your assessment aligns with my initial suspicions. I'll take it to a qualified technician for a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. The estimated repair cost is 120€.
