Thalia immobilizer error
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Renault Thalia diesel is experiencing starting issues, with the engine firing briefly before dying, and a scan reveals an immobilizer error. The problem is suspected to be related to key programming or the immobilizer module itself. After taking the car to a workshop, the issue is identified as corrupt key programming, which is resolved by recoding, restoring the car's functionality.

Yeah, tried the spare key, no luck. Same thing happens. Any thoughts on what could cause the programming to just go bad like that?

Could be a number of things, but if both keys are failing, it's unlikely to be the keys themselves. More likely an issue with the immobilizer module itself or the communication between it and the ECU. Best to get it checked at a workshop with the proper diagnostics.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local shop, and it turned out the key programming was indeed corrupt. They recoded it for 45€. Runs like a charm now!

Sounds like a key programming issue. Have you tried your spare key to rule that out?
