Thalia rear window heating issue

My 2017 Renault Thalia/Symbol with a gasoline engine has an issue at 189580 km. The rear window heating isn't working. There's an error stored, and the windshield heating is also weak. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery cause this?

I had something similar in my Thalia. Rear defroster stopped, and the front took ages. Have you checked the battery's voltage? It's like trying to boil water with a lighter if the battery is weak.

Yes, there was an error code. Replacing the battery sorted it all out. If your battery is old or not holding charge, I'd suggest a workshop. It could save you time.

Understood. The issue was indeed the battery. Replacing it and clearing the error codes fixed both the rear window and windshield heating. Total cost was 290€.
