Thalia Seat Heating Fault

Anyone seen issues with seat heating on a 2006 Thalia/Symbol gasoline? Mine's done 154281 km. It's not heating, and there's an error code. I think it's the heating mat.

Summary of the thread

The seat heating in a 2006 Thalia/Symbol is not functioning, and an error code indicates an open circuit in the heating element. The issue is suspected to be with the heating mat. Before replacing the mat, which is costly, it is suggested to have a professional handle the repair due to the complexity and potential for further issues.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar! My old Opel Astra had a similar problem, but it was the temperature control unit. The seat heating wouldn't get warm. Did you check the fuse for the seat heater? Where did you see the error code? Generic or seat-specific?

Thanks, I checked the fuse already. The OBD-II scanner says there's an open circuit in the seat heating element. Before I replace the mat, which costs 390€, has anyone else had this?

An open circuit is different from my Opel. I didn't go that deep, I just took it to a shop. A broken heating element sounds like a pain. Given the price, I'd let a professional handle it unless you're comfortable with car electrics. Best to avoid messing something else up!

Thanks for confirming the potential severity. I'll get a professional repair. Your insights were helpful.
