Thalia Temperature Gauge Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Renault Thalia with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the temperature gauge, a check engine light, and slow engine warm-up. A potential cause is a blown fuse for the radiator grille shutters, which can restrict airflow and affect engine temperature regulation. Checking and replacing the fuse resolved the issue, restoring normal function.

Fuse for the radiator grille? I didn't know that existed. Where would I find it, and is it easy to check? I'm not super mechanically inclined, but I can handle basic stuff.

Check your owner's manual for the fuse box location and fuse assignments. If the fuse looks okay, get it checked by a professional. They can diagnose the system and find the real problem.

Your advice was spot on! The shop found that the radiator grille fuse was blown. They replaced it, and now everything works. It cost 52€, which isn't too bad.

Sounds like a thermal management issue, similar to what I had with my 2012 Opel Astra. It had prolonged engine warm-up times and a weird temperature gauge. Have you checked the fuse for the radiator grille shutters? If it's bad, the grille might not open and close right.
