Thalia Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Issue

I have a 2021 Renault Thalia/Symbol with a gasoline engine and 163701 km. The engine warning light is on, and there's an error about the transmission oil pressure sensor. The gearbox is in emergency mode with slippage, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. Could low gearbox oil be the cause?

Whoa, sounds rough! Grinding noises are never good. Low oil's a decent guess. Did you check the dipstick, if it has one? If not, maybe it's the sensor itself going bad. Got any codes you can share? That might help narrow it down.

This model doesn't have a transmission dipstick. I'll get the error codes ASAP. If the oil level is low, could a faulty pressure gauge or switch also cause these symptoms, or is low oil the only possible cause?

Okay, no dipstick is annoying. Yeah, a dodgy pressure sensor could cause some mayhem even if the oil level is fine. But with those grinding noises and the slipping, plus limp mode... it really does point to something serious going on inside the gearbox. Honestly, I'd get it to a workshop ASAP before it gets worse and costs you even more!

I took it to a workshop. They confirmed a faulty transmission oil pressure sensor, likely triggered by the low oil level. The sensor was replaced, and the oil level was corrected. The total cost was 365€. It's now working as expected. Thanks for the insights.
