Tiburon engine stalls at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai Tiburon with 163,557 km is experiencing engine stalling at idle and reduced power, accompanied by a check engine light. The issue is suspected to be related to the fuel system, possibly involving the fuel volume regulator. After consulting with others who had similar problems, it was determined that the high pressure pump was faulty, leading to the stalling and power loss. Replacing the defective fuel volume regulator resolved the issue, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks! When your high pressure pump failed, did the car cut out completely, or just run rough? And any idea what triggered yours? I'm trying to avoid just throwing parts at it!

In my case, the car would stall intermittently, especially at low speeds. Given that it seems your high pressure pump is defective, I would suggest you take your car to a workshop.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and turns out the high pressure pump was indeed the culprit. The fuel volume regulator was defective, which led to all the stalling and power loss. Cost me 1510€ to get it sorted, but she's running like a champ again. Thanks for the pointer!

I had similar symptoms with my Tiburon. The high pressure pump was faulty and the car started misfiring. You should check the fuel pressure.
