Tiburon knock sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai Tiburon is experiencing issues such as a check engine light, increased fuel consumption, and rough idling, potentially due to a faulty knock sensor. The problem might be related to the sensor itself or its wiring. Checking the sensor's resistance with a multimeter can help diagnose the issue. Ultimately, a mechanic discovered a wiring problem with the knock sensor, which was resolved for 95€.

Thanks. I haven't checked the resistance yet. What's the typical range for a good knock sensor on the Tiburon? Also, did a new sensor fix your problem, or was there more to it?

I don't remember the exact resistance range for the Tiburon's knock sensor, check a repair manual. My problem wasn't fixed by a new sensor. Turns out the engine's wiring harness was rubbing. I'd suggest a mechanic. Guessing at repairs is like treating symptoms, not the disease.

Got it. Thanks for sharing. I took it to a shop, and they found a wiring issue with the knock sensor. Cost me 95€ to fix. Thanks again.

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Tiburon. Have you checked the sensor's resistance? A multimeter could tell you if the sensor's bad or if it's the wiring. If the resistance is off, that'd point to the sensor.
