Tiida Camshaft Sensor Issue

My 2006 Nissan Tiida diesel (37558 km) starts poorly and has reduced power. There's an error code stored. I suspect a defective camshaft sensor, maybe a faulty cable or plug. Anyone else had this?

I had a similar issue with my Tiida (mine's a bit newer). Sounds very familiar. Did you check the wiring harness for damage or corrosion? That was a big part of my problem.

Thanks! I did a quick check of the harness, but not thoroughly. Could you say which areas of the harness were problematic for you? Any details would be great.

The issue was intermittent, which made it annoying. I traced the wiring from the camshaft sensor back to the ECU and found a slightly corroded connector near the engine block. I ended up taking it to a workshop because I wasn't sure I could solve it. They confirmed the wire corrosion and fixed it!

Thanks for your help! I had my mechanic check the wiring harness, and he found a defective connection like you said. The repair cost 95€. It's fixed now!
