Tiida rough running engine stall

Hi, I have a 2009 Nissan Tiida diesel. The check engine light is on, the engine runs rough, sometimes stalls at idle, and jerks when accelerating. I think it's a fuel delivery problem. I checked the fuel filter and fuel lines, but they look fine. Could it be a bad fuel pressure sensor?

Those symptoms sound like a fuel pressure issue, and the fuel pressure sensor is a good place to start. The jerking and rough idle, along with the check engine light, point to that. Before replacing the sensor, check the cable and plug connection to it. A loose or corroded connection can act like a sensor failure. Also, did you get the error code from the ECU? That would help.

How do I check the cable and plug connection? I'm not sure what a 'corroded' connection looks like, or how to fix it. Do I need a special tool to get the error code, or can I do it myself?

A corroded connection often has a greenish or whitish stuff on the metal. Make sure the connector is on tight and the pins aren't bent or broken. You can try cleaning the contacts with electrical contact cleaner. For the error code, you'll need an OBD2 scanner. Many auto parts stores will read the code for free. Since it could affect the fuel delivery and cause misfires, a workshop might be best. They can measure the fuel pressure and check the fuel injectors.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local workshop, and the cable or plug connection to the fuel pressure sensor was bad, like you said. The repair was 95€ including parts and labor. Thanks again!
