Tiida Whistling Hissing Noise

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2008 Nissan Tiida, gasoline engine, 247063 km on the clock. The check engine light is on intermittently, with reduced engine power and responsiveness. There's a whistling noise that becomes a loud hissing sound on acceleration. Occasionally, the engine stalls at idle, and my fuel consumption has increased. Could this be a boost pressure actuator fault or a defective electrical bypass valve in the turbo system?

Hey! I have a Tiida as well. I had very similar symptoms a while back - the whistling and hissing were especially annoying. Did you check the actuator valve? That's what caused the issues on my car.

Thanks! I'm not sure I checked the actuator valve correctly. Could you describe how you diagnosed that as the problem? Any specific tests or observations?

Honestly, I'm not the most mechanically inclined, but from the symptoms, it sounds like my actuator valve problem. Given all those symptoms and that mileage, it might be worth visiting a workshop. They could probably confirm the fault quickly.

I appreciate the insight! Based on your experience and the symptoms, it seemed likely. I took it to a local mechanic, and it turned out that the electrical bypass valve was faulty, just as we suspected. The repair cost was around 250€, but now the car is running smoothly again. Thanks again!
