Tilt sensor malfunction in Skoda Fabia 2016 - looking for experience and solutions

Hello everyone, my 2016 Skoda Fabia with a petrol engine is currently acting up. The alarm is currently going off several times for no apparent reason. I suspect that it is due to the anti-theft alarm system tilt sensor. Have any of you ever had the same problem and how did the garage fix it? Please share your experiences and tips. What else could it be? Thanks in advance!

Hey, the exact same thing happened to my 2014 Skoda Rapid. My knowledge of cars is not that extensive, but I actually experienced it myself. It turned out that the power supply (battery) for the siren was faulty. My garage did it for me and I had to pay 270 euros for it. It would be helpful if you could provide more information about your vehicle so that we can go into your problem in more detail. Hope that helps!

Hey, thanks for your quick reply! My Fabia now has 74420 km on the clock and the last inspection was recently. Your experience is really interesting, I would never have thought about the power supply for the siren. I'll give it a try! Do you have any other ideas, or was it definitely the power supply in your case? It's really stupid that such a small problem is so expensive to fix. Hopefully I can solve it soon.

Hey, I'm glad my answer helped you! In my Rapid, it was definitely the power supply to the siren. The garage had measured and confirmed this at the time. But as you say, there can often be many causes with cars. Another problem I can think of would be a problem with the central locking system. This could possibly have a short circuit and trigger the alarm. However, as your Fabia already has a few kilometers on the clock, it might be a good idea to have the electronics checked in general. You're on the safe side with the most recent inspection, but maybe there's still something to be done. Hope this helps!

Hey, that's super helpful, thank you very much! I'll definitely have it checked to see if it's the power supply to the siren or possibly the central locking system. Granted, with the high mileage and my bad luck, anything could really be possible. But you're right, a complete check of the electronics does seem like a good idea. I hope the garage finds the problem quickly before the costs skyrocket. It's a shame that there isn't always a simple solution...but well, that's the way it is with cars. Thanks again for your tips and advice, they were super helpful!
