Tipo Undervoltage Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Fiat Tipo hybrid with 203,207 km is experiencing an "Undervoltage Detected" error, leading to poor starts, system failures, and weak lights. The issue might stem from a faulty voltage regulator or charging system, but initial checks showed normal voltage. A suggestion was made to check the battery health, as a damaged cell could cause voltage drops under load. Upon testing, the battery was found to be heavily discharged and failing, and replacing it resolved the issue.

Thanks! When you say 'battery health', do you mean just the voltage, or is there something else I should be checking? Could a bad cell cause these symptoms even if the overall voltage looks okay?

Yeah, even if the voltage seems alright at rest or when running, a damaged cell can cause it to drop significantly under load, triggering the undervoltage errors and affecting other systems. Best bet is to get it properly tested at a workshop.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on – the battery was indeed heavily discharged and failing. Replacing the battery fixed the undervoltage errors, and everything is working as it should. The total repair cost was 290€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I had something similar with my Tipo, though mine's not a hybrid. I was also getting undervoltage warnings and weird electrical glitches. Check the battery health; it might be heavily discharged or even defective.
