Tire Pressure Sensor Issue on AMG GT

Having a bit of a mare with my 2022 Mercedes AMG GT, the hybrid version. Clocked up 230599 km and now the tire pressure warning light is on. Says tire pressure too low. I've checked with a pressure gauge, and all tires are spot on. Error message is plastered across the speedometer, and I plugged in my reader - fault code confirms tire pressure sensor. I'm guessing the sensor battery is flat. Anyone else had this? Annoying thing is the air pressure is correct. I even double checked the air valve thinking something might be amiss.

Summary of the thread

The 2022 Mercedes AMG GT is experiencing a persistent tire pressure warning light, despite the tire pressure being correct. The issue is likely due to a faulty tire pressure sensor, possibly with a dead battery. The suggested solution is to have the sensor professionally checked and replaced if necessary, which resolved the problem in this case.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old BMW a while back. The low tire warning kept popping up even though the pressure was fine. Was driving me nuts! Did you try checking if the sensors are actually sending a signal? Maybe one of them is just completely dead.

Good shout. How did you check the sensors on your BMW? Did you need some fancy diagnostic tool or is there a simpler way? I've only got a basic code reader, nothing too sophisticated. If it is the sensor, I wonder what the air valve condition is like, might be worth replacing it at the same time, especially with the mileage on it.

I didn't have a fancy tool either. The garage diagnosed it for me, turned out one sensor was kaput. Given you've already got the error code pointing to the sensor, I reckon it's worth getting it checked out professionally. Save yourself the headache. A faulty tire pressure sensor can cause a lot of trouble.

Cheers for the advice. Booked it in at a local garage. Turns out it was indeed a faulty sensor. They replaced it, and the error is gone. Cost me 280€ all in. Lesson learned I suppose. At least the air pressure in the tires is correct now.
